Locality. It consists mainly of nitrogen and oxygen with small quantities of carbon dioxide, water vapor, smoke, ammonia, and other forms of nitrogen gases. Plants take in and give out gases by means of stomata, or pores, in the leaves. Climatic conditions determine the amount.
