Dormant state. Dig up plant, place in paper bag with holes or wrap roots in newspaper. Hang in cool, dark space. Or, hang upside-down, bare roots in cool, dark basement. Rehydrate roots a few times during winter by soaking them in water a few hours. Pot up plant in late winter. Resume watering. Place outdoors in warm weather.
