Dwarfed shrubs and trees in small containers. The plants are kept small by restricting their roots, pruning leaves and shoots, and trimming roots. Outdoor bonsai plants are not true houseplants, and can only be taken indoors for limited periods. Indoor bonsai plants, however, remain perpetually indoors.
