Light frost has killed vines. More than a light frost will shorten storage life. Leave on ground to "cure" in sun 10-14 days. Cover if frost threatens. This curing will sweeten flesh and toughen skin for storage. Wipe skin with a cloth dipped in a weak bleach solution (1 part bleach to 6 parts water) to help prevent rot.
