Poor color and flavor. Keep soil evenly moist until carrots have germinated. Overwatering can cause root rot. Uneven moisture can make roots crack and split. When tops are 2” tall, thin to 2-3” apart. In spring, plant successive crops 2-3 weeks apart until temperatures warm up. For fall harvest, direct sow 85-100 days before first expected frost.
