Well-drained soil and semi-shade to shade. Plant in direct sun early in day. Avoid midday full sun that causes foliage to dieback prematurely. Maintain even moisture during growing season. If needed place 1-2” mulch around plant away from base to keep soil evenly moist. During hot summer, foliage turns yellow, dies back, goes into summer dormancy.
