12” wide and 12” deep. Layer compost at bottom and plant soaked asparagus crowns about 18” apart. Cover with compost and water well. As spears grow, shovel dirt into hole until it full, then top with compost and mulch. Fertilize once or twice over summer and keep bed weed-free. Wait two years to harvest your spears.
