"Up" portion of root and which is "down". The "up" portion is closest to parent plant. The "down" portion is part farthest down in soil. They WON’T root upside down. The best way to keep track of "up" and "down" is to make a flat cut on top or "up" side, and a slanted cut on "down" or bottom side.
