The potato patch in spring and lay clusters of bright yellow eggs on leaf undersides. The eggs hatch into red-hump-baked larvae with a voracious appetite for potato leaves and flowers. Mulch potatoes when they are 6” tall. Check for eggs before covering plants. Remove rowcovers after about six weeks when the potato plants are large and vigorous.
