First set them out. As the plants grow, they will cover the stakes so that eventually the stakes will barely be noticeable. Stakes should be 6-12” shorter than the height of the mature plant. Place stakes behind plants, sinking them far enough into ground to firmly anchor them. Tie the plants loosely (strips of nylon panty hose work great).
