Flowers appear. Harvest plump pods that are just beginning to look bumpy. If pods are discolored or shriveled, peas are past their prime. Best harvest time is early in morning because pods are crispest then, will store better and stay fresh longer. Use scissors to cut pods from plant, or pull off very carefully so you don’t uproot plant.
