They have turned brown and seeds have hardened (seeds will rattle inside pods). If weather is too damp for beans to dry, harvest plants and hang them upside down indoors. Completely dried pods split readily, making seeds easy to remove. Place in airtight jar with a desiccant to absorb moisture. Store in cool, dry spot up to a year.
