Grape hyacinth, tulips and squill can be dug and divided in summer after the plants have flowered and the foliage has turned form green to yellow or brown. At this point the bulbs have finished storing up the nutrients they need. Replant the bulbs immediately or hold them indoors in an open box and replant them in all.
