Chocolate Drizzle at Home

Avoid buying over priced chocolate coated treats at the grocery store or bakery! Make your own delicate chocolate drizzle in 10 minutes

Melt Chocolate Chips

  • Pour boiling water into a glass bowl and soak a bag of chocolate chips until the chips are melted. You can also use vanilla, caramel or peanut butter chips. 
  • Remove the bag with tongs and wrap in a dishtowel so you don’t burn yourself.
  • Use your hands and fists to knead the bag and mix the chips around. Put the bag back in the hot water and repeat this until the chips are melted and the bag is full of soft chocolate.

 Drizzle as You Wish

  • Cut off a small corner, about ¼ inch long, off the chocolate chip bag with a scissors. 
  • Pick up the bag and lightly squeeze so that the chocolate drizzles out. Spread a ribbon of chocolate on your favorite treats. Make it as heavy or thinly coated as you wish.

 Reuse and Store

  • If the chocolate begins to cool and harden in the bag before you’re finished, fold the open corner of the bag over and seal with a clip or clothespin.  Place the bag in the bowl of hot water until the chocolate re-softens.
  • You can also store the bag for later use by sealing the open corner in the same way and refrigerating. The next time you want melted chocolate, remove the bag from the fridge and re-heat and knead as explained above.
