Last frost until July 1st. Chard does not develop as strong a flavor in heat as many other leafy vegetables. Plant seeds ½-1" deep. In heavy soil, it may be useful to cover with sand or soft potting mixture to avoid crusting of soil. Plant seed about 1" apart in wide row planting and cover ½-1" deep.
