Plan ahead for dividing your perennials and have the new site ready before….

Digging. Water plants to be divided 1-2 days ahead of time. Cut any foliage back to 6” from the ground to limit water loss and make dividing easier. Use a shovel or spading fork to dig around plant. Work tool in under clump. Lift gently out of ground. Cut into manageable size parts. Discard dead or weakened growth.
