Usually does not need pinching or pruning through the growing season. Most work comes at planting time. If your impatiens begin to get too tall and spindly, cutting them back will renew the plant’s efforts toward blooming and reduce the top-heavy growth. Pruning is up to you but it’s not needed for the health of the plant.
