When disposing of slugs and snails by hand picking….

You can do it by day, or go out at night with a flashlight and gather slugs by hand and drop in soapy or salty water in a container they can't climb out of. Use chopsticks or tweezers. Doing it with gloves is very cumbersome, and using your hands leaves a thick slime.
