Emily Post suggests bringing a hostess gift to any party to which you are invited. Here are a few suggestions that will not cost you an arm and a leg:
 | | hostess gift packages |
Unique Cocktail Napkins: Always a crowd pleaser. Caspari makes an excellent selection of unique and inexpensive options. Wrap with fun tissue paper and cellophane bag with ribbons!
Tea Towels: You can find unique tea towels at your local gift store. Monogrammed, whimsical, holiday - take your pic! I have received a few of these in the past, and it is so much fun to pull out for specific holidays for decor.
Alcohol: If you know the couple enjoys a fine wine, take a bottle of your favorite! Wine bag/boxes are appropriate for wrapping!
Candles/soaps: Scented, unique candles or soaps are always a hit! However, if you know that they have allergies, you may want to steer clear of this gift.
Cookbooks: Always a welcome addition to any cook's collection! Unique cookbooks are always fun to share - if you are from out of town or just returned from a trip, a cookbook from that area is always a delight.
And always, ALWAYS, remember to send a thank you note for the evening within a week of the event!
