Crowded summer and fall flowering perennials like agapanthus, garden phlox astilbe, aster, bleeding heart, coral bells, daylilies, and shasta daisies. Perennials perform best in well-drained soil with plenty of humus. Astilbe, hosta and bleeding heart will bloom in the shade.
