Sink the pots into the ground or place them in a semi-protected, cold area and watch for signs of life. Once you see small shoots, bring them indoors or plant them in the garden. Be careful not to disturb the roots. Some gardeners plant the pot, removing it in the summer, putting the bulbs alone in the hole.
