Walk your children through your house and rehearse various ‘what-would-you-do-if’ situations

Teach kids basic fire rules (to cover their faces with wet towels while escaping smoke, to feel doors to determine if they’re hot, etc.). Have your child demonstrate different ways he could escape from the house.
