Urinary Tract Infection Emergency Home Remedy
This remedy saved me when I was snowed in and couldn’t get to my doctor.
You will need:
Pure Unsweetened Cranberry Juice
Apple Cider Vinegar
Lemon Juice
Alka-Seltzer tablets
Baking Soda
- Immediately start drinking the cranberry juice. This will begin to create the acidic environment in your bladder that is hostile to the bacteria causing the infection. I add 1 Tbs. of apple cider vinegar and a generous squirt of lemon juice.
- Wait about 30 minutes and take 1 tsp of baking soda with a full glass (6-8 oz) of water. The baking soda helps to neutralize the acids that cause the burning. Don’t take it with the cranberry juice. They will cancel each other out!
- After an hour, drink the cranberry/vinegar/lemon juice mixture.
- Wait another hour and drink a full glass of water with a packet (2 tablets) of Alka-Seltzer. This also acts to neutralize the acidity you are creating in your bladder and will help to relieve the pain.
I noticed relief after 3 hours of this process and I continued this for a full day. By night I was symptom free.
Be sure to see your regular physician as soon as you can. This is just to hold you over until you can get professional help.
