Switch it around. Try rearranging the furniture in your bedroom for a new look: move the bed against another wall, add a chest at the edge of the bed, move your next to the window.
Bring in the mirrors. A few well-placed wall mirrors make a room look bigger.
Consider bringing in a small plant. If you have a large enough room, a well-placed potted plant may add a nice touch. Keep in mind that plants will release carbon dioxide at night as you sleep, so you may not want a large plant in a small bedroom.
Replace the curtains. This can often do wonders to your bedroom. Find curtains that match your theme; try them at home before deciding if they are right for you.
Add a comfy rug. Especially if you have hardwood floors, a comfortable rug right next to the bed will be welcome each morning as you rise to greet the day.
Paint the ceiling. Tired of looking at drab white every time you wake up? Add a splash of pink, or blue, or beige to your bedroom's fifth wall.
