Learning how to burn a DVD will allow you to create hard copies of movies/video files on your computer. Here is a helpful guide for burning a DVD on a PC. 
The most popular software for burning DVDs for PC is Nero and Roxio. Nero is widely used because of the features their packages provide at an affordable price. Roxio is popular because their “Toast” program is compatible with Mac OS. Check out Nero.com and Roxio.com to compare features and find the best program for your needs.
Launch Nero or Roxio program on your computer. Select the “Make A DVD” option. You should get the option to make a “DVD Video”, “DVD Data”, or an “Editable DVD”. Pick the option that suits your purpose for burning a DVD (most cases will be for making a DVD video).
When the software asks you to select a video source, click on “Add Files”. The software will bring up a window that will allow you to view the files in your computer. Choose the MP4 file that you want to burn. If there is more than one file you want to put on the DVD, hold down control while selecting multiple files. Once you have selected the files you need, click “next” or “continue” to proceed through the program.
Go to the menu screen of the DVD software to start building the DVD menu. Customize the background with pictures, fonts, and layout that is aesthetically pleasing and easy to navigate. The software should also allow you to create different layers for the menu that will allow you relate the images to the video content. Once you are finished, select the preview option to make sure the menu looks the way you would like it to look on a TV screen or monitor. Make necessary changes if you need to.
Insert a black DVD into your DVD burner. Double-check the make sure you have selected the correct files you need. Select “Burn Disc” to start the burning process. The disc should automatically eject once burning has completed. Make sure not to manually eject the disc before the disc has completed burning to avoid damaging the disc.
