Landscape lighting ideas

It is always a good idea to add landscape lighting to your backyard or garden. Before you begin, think about where you would want to have lights installed. Also consider the type of lights (like solar or electrical).  

Here are a few landscape lighting ideas:

• Path or walkway lighting. Whether you have a small or a big walkway, you should install some lights. There are numerous light designs that you can use. For example, you can use solar accent step lights, or slate solar stepping stone lights, or solar walk stick lights with illuminating glass. You can also use electrical lights, but you will save a lot by installing solar. 
• Water features lighting. All water features such as pools, hot tubs, and ponds should have appropriate lighting. One of the ways to light them up is to use floating lanterns, pond lights, or ground spot lights. You can use different color lights for the breathtaking effect.   
• Sculpture lighting. Lighting sculptures is another landscape lighting idea. As the owner of a sculpture, you would want to show your possession even at night. Installing spotlights around the sculpture can bring dramatic and intriguing effect.
• Flower arrangement lighting. Some flower arrangements are a delight to see at night. If you have a flower arrangement that you want to show at night, you should use pole lamps. One lamp sometimes is enough to light up plants, shrubs, and trees.
• Side of the house lighting. For the safety, security, and beauty, you should install lights on every side of your house. Light wall sconce is the most common lamp shape for the side of the house.  
• Outdoor bench lighting. To light up a bench or any other outdoor furniture, you should consider rock solar lights, post lights, or hanging lights. If you have a paved road leading to the bench, you should think about walkway lights and a post light that is right by the bench.
