Spring break can be a breath of fresh air, a welcome respite from school and other responsibilities. Check out these ideas
- Visit a friend. Whether they're across town or across the country, make an effort to reconnect with a good friend that you don't get to see often during the year.
- Go abroad. Book a cheap flight and make a quick trip to Canada, England, or even Hawaii. Get out of Dodge and see another part of the world for a few days!
- Make a roadtrip. Get a few friends together and caravan to the mountains, or a state park, or to a show on Broadway.
- Host a gathering with family and friends. This may be the ideal time to have coffee with that friend you've been wanting to get together with, or the time to throw a neighborhood block party or barbecue.
- Go camping. What better way to enjoy spring then out where you can be up close and personal with the blossoming season?
- Volunteer. Offer your services at a local charity, apply for a short stint at an out-of-town organization (such as a farm that is a part of World Wide Opportunities on Organic Farms [WWOOF]), or join local church or community group that will be trucking to a place in need.
- Go to the city. Visit the closest big city and enjoy the varied venues it has to offer.
- Indulge your passion. Catch up on the reading you've been wanting to get to, or write that story, paint that landscape, design that program, and canoe that river.
