Use white vinegar as a fabric softener

Instead of regular fabric softener, replace it with white vinegar (it will not make your laundry smell). It costs a fraction of the price of liquid softeners. Use between one fourth and one half cup per load. Buy the vinegar in bulk sizes at stores like Costco or Sam’s Club.
