Not every file smoothes and seals nail edges in addition to shaping them. The ceramic nail file does just that, creating a beautiful nail that won’t break or be feeble after you have filed. Follow these 4 tips on how to use a ceramic nail file and get your nails clean, smooth, shapely and beautiful.
Clean your nails. Remove any nail polish that you might have on. Use the tip of the ceramic nail file to remove dirt from under your nails. Wash your hands to remove the dirt.
Select a workspace. Sit at a table where you can easily place your hands in front of you. Place a paper towel or old newspaper in front of you to collect nail dust and clippings.
File the tips of your nails. Move the ceramic nail file straight across the top edge of your nails in one direction. Make sure not to move back and forth as this will cause your nails to break. File the tip of the nail down until you have made a square edge.
File the sides of your nails. Next position the ceramic nail file at an angle from the newly formed corner of your nail and file the corners smooth and round. File the side of the nail down so that it comes straight out of your nail bed. Again, make sure to move the file only one way across the nail edge as going back and forth rips the nail. Do this to the opposite corner of the nail as well. Continue to file until the nails have taken the shape you desire.
