Cordless hair trimmers are used to cut short haircuts. Having one at home is a worthy investment, as you avoid spending $25 or more at a salon every few weeks to keep your haircut up. Get your own cordless hair trimmers by following these buying tips:

Why choose cordless rather than electric? Cordless hair trimmers are easier to use than electric ones because you can move around the head without worrying about the cord getting stuck or pulling the trimmers down.  It is easier to move the trimmers at different angles without a cord attached.

Cordless hair trimmers must have good battery length. You do not want the battery to gradually loose charge as you use it because the trimmers will cease to cut well and begin to pull hair. You should be able to cut an entire haircut on one charge, so it should last at least 20 minutes.  If your cordless hair trimmers do not have adequate battery life you can purchase an extra battery to switch in halfway through the cut.  Assess the price difference between buying an extra battery and buying a more expensive and longer lasting cordless hair trimmers.

Your trimmers should have strong motor strength. The stronger the motor the better haircut you will get.  Weaker motors end up pulling at the hair instead of clipping it. This can become very painful.

Buy cordless hair trimmers that come with multiple blades. This enables you to change your haircut’s look. For example, you may want to have slightly longer hair on the top of your head and shorter hair at the base of the neck.  Select trimmers that come with the blades you desire. Take note on the price of additional blades if you choose to go with a different length later on.

Your trimmers should have a comfortable grip.  You need to be able to maneuver the cordless hair trimmers in various directions all around the head as you give the cut.  You should be able to hold the trimmers for at least 15 to 20 minutes without tiring your hand. Remember that the cordless hair trimmers will be vibrating and you have to be able to hold it, lift it, maneuver and control it for the length of at least one haircut at a time.
