Don't let a cold bring you down. While it is true that there is no cure for the cold, there are ways to help your body fight the cold off faster. Find out how I fast and effectively treat a cold:
Sleep - Getting enough rest is one of the most important things you can do to treat a cold. While sleeping your body has the chance to regenerate and work harder to fight off the cold virus. Sleep deprived people will get colds faster and have them longer than those who generally get about 8 hours of shut eye a night. So go to bed early, sleep in, and take a nap to get over your cold quickly. Echinacea and Goldenseal supplements- As soon as you feel cold symptoms coming on (a runny nose, soar throat, coughing) take a serving of Echinacea and goldenseal twice a day. Proven to be nature's natural immune system booster, I have found that Echinacea and Goldenseal (either taken separately or together) help to fight colds and keep them away. After discovering Nature's Way Echinacea Goldenseal immune support capsules (available at any local grocery or drug store) I haven't had a cold in over a year, and I fought the last cold I did have off in as little as a day! Lots of fluids, especially green and black Tea- Fluids keep your body hydrated and help to flush out toxins that inhibit your body's ability to fight off a cold. Green and black tea are especially good to drink because they contain an element called L-thiamine which promotes your white blood cells to produce a virus-fighting protein known as interferon. It is best to drink your tea hot, since it tends to clear the sinuses. The more tea you drink, the more virus-fighting proteins your blood will carry!
