Country dancing is a fun hobby you can learn to do with your spouse or your friends. Check out these tips on how to take country dance lessons in your area:
- Find A Partner

Find a dance partner who shares your passion for learning how to country dance (Line Dancing, Two-Step, El Paso, Country Cha-Cha, West Coast Swing). Try to find a partner who is at the same skill level you are. Finding someone who is close to your height will also make it a bit easier on both of you. Also consider the size of your partner (and yourself) if you eventually want to learn acrobatic lifts.
Find dance studios in your area that offer country dancing classes. The best way to do this is to Google search “country dancing lessons” (include your city). Go to Yelp.com to read reviews of the dance studios and find out if they are affordable. Meetup.com is also a good website to find country dancing gatherings in your specific area.
Expervillage.com has a great source of free videos that teach the various styles of country dancing. Learning2dance.com also provides excellent lessons by master teachers, although you have to pay to have access to the entire video. You can always search YouTube for instructional videos but you will probably have to sort through the some junk content.
Dancing in general requires a great deal of flexibility from your body. Make sure to stretch before each lesson and on the days that you don’t dance. This will improve your form and help you to execute the steps correctly. It is also a good idea to do some cardio workouts to build up your stamina once you start to advance in your lessons.
