Don’t cover a tree’s roots with dirt to add flowers

Covering tree roots with soil for flower planting can damage the tree. Instead, encircle the tree with cinder blocks. Fill each block with potting oil and then your plants (e.g. impatiens). Before you know it, the shady spot will be full of color and it isn’t real expensive. And, your tree will still be healthy.
