Emails became the primary means of communication because if the convenience, speed, and safety. Majority of Internet users have several e-mail accounts. It’s estimated that an average person has 3 email addresses. Making your own email is a very easy and fast process. There are several ways you can do it:

  • Open a free account. There are a number of email hosts that provide email accounts for free. The most popular ones are hotmail.com, gmail.com, and yahoo.com (with recently added ymail and rocketmail). The problem with these emails is that, because they service millions of users, it is difficult to find an available address. You have to be very creative to come up with an available user name. To create an account with either one of these services go to their website and click on “Sign up” option. Then follow the instructions.
  • Contact your Internet provider. You can set up an email account with your Internet Service Provider (ISP). You will have more chances of getting a user name that you want than with a free service. If your ISP is called XYZ, then your email will be in the form of “yourusername@XYZ.com”.   Most likely you won’t have to pay anything to set up the account and you can manage your emails through Outlook Express.
  • Own a website. If you own a website, you can set up a number of emails with the host of your web site. The format of the email will be the same “yourusername@XYZ.com”, except in this case, XYZ will be the name of your website. The potential for customization of your email name is virtually unlimited.

You Do Not Need a Website
by Susie at 2010-12-01 22:21:09
You do not need to have a website to have a domain name. If you register with most registrars today they will "park" your domain name at their system. If someone tries to go to your domain name on the web, it will just pop up a page on their system saying that the domain name is reserved.
