Pregnancy, weight loss, weight gain, growth spurts – there are a number of causes for stretch marks. What doesn’t vary is the embarrassment factor associated with having stretch marks – let’s face it, they just aren’t that pretty to look at. You don’t need to wonder what are ways to get rid of stretch marks anymore, below you will find answers!
Exfoliate. In the shower or bath use a loofah, washcloth or body wash with micro scrubbers to exfoliate the skin that has the stretch marks. This stimulates the skin’s circulation to the area and encourages faster healing.
Lotionize.
- Rub cocoa butter onto the stretch marks. Do so several times a day. Cocoa butter helps the skin retain its elasticity and stop any more stretch marks from occurring. It helps the skin become flexible and strong.
- Rub Tea Tree Oil into your stretch marks. Tea tree oil has natural healing properties for the skin. You will want to only use tea tree oil at nighttime because it has a very strong odor. It is important not to use tea tree oil when you are pregnant.
- Rub in lotions that contain Vitamin C, Vitamin E, Zing and silica. These essential skin vitamins and minerals help return elasticity to your skin.
- Rub in Aloe Vera. Aloe Vera naturally hydrates the skin, helping to heal stretch mark scars.
Microdermabrasion. A non-surgical procedure that sprays mineral crystals on the skin, removing the outer layer of skin – essentially removing the stretch marks. This stimulates the production of new skin cells and collagen, allowing fresh new skin to grow back. The procedure takes only 35-45 minutes.
Excimer Laser Surgery. The most intensive treatment for stretch marks, a doctor uses an ultra violet laser that removes fine layers of skin, essentially removing stretch marks. The laser is so intense that it does not burn, but instead disintegrates the skin thus allowing new skin to grow in its place.
