By knowing what are the best vitamins for your skin you can reduce aging, wrinkles, age spots, redness and dark circles and bags under your eyes. Topically apply these vitamins:
Vitamin A.
Also known as retinoids (and so listed in skin care ingredient lists), Vitamin A treats and prevents all skin problems. Apply a pea size amount of retinoid facial cream and body lotion at bedtime (Vitamin A looses its effectiveness in the sunlight). You can buy retinoid lotions and creams anywhere between $25-$50.
Vitamin B3.
Scientifically called niacinamide (and so listed in ingredient lists), Vitamin B3 replenishes moisture to the skin, reducing redness. It increases fatty acids and ceramids in the skin which lock in moisture and provide a barrier against irritants. You can apply niacinamide lotion both in the morning and at night. Creams can be bought for $20-$35.
Vitamin C.
Creams with at least at 5% Vitamin C concentration work as anti-agers. A lotion consists of at least 5% Vitamin C if it is listed in the middle of the ingredients list. If it is near the bottom the percentage of Vitamin C is not enough to make a difference on your skin. You should apply lotions with Vitamin C before you apply sunblock. You can find such lotions for around $20.
Vitamin E.
This essential skin vitamin increases UV ray defense and hydrates the skin. It is best to use sunscreens and after-sun lotions with Vitamin E. Vitamin E works as a natural neutralizer of free radicals that damage skin cells. Vitamin E can prevent and reduce sunburn and stop permanent damage from the sun. You can find creams that contain Vitamin E anywhere between $10 and $45.
Vitamin K.
Also named phytonadione, Vitamin K improves the appearance of skin around the eye. It reduces dark circles by increasing the amount of retinal in the skin, reducing translucency. You should apply Vitamin K lotions and creams at night before bed. You can find such creams for $45-$85.
