How many witches, ghosts, werewolves, and Batman costumes will you see during Halloween parties and on trick or treat outings?
You can stand out from the crowd by turning into a refrigerator!
- Pick up a used refrigerator box from an appliance store, such as Best Buy.
- Cut handholds in the sides to lift and maneuver the box. You could also attach straps so that the box is carried on your shoulders.
- Cut out the door(s). Since these boxes can be large and unwieldy, you might want to have a friend inside to help maneuver. Then you could become a side-by-side refrigerator!
- Use a small, lightweight board to brace along the bottom of the door side of the box. Use duct tape, which will be your friend on this project.
- Cut out an ice dispenser to use as a view port. A second person could use a TV screen as a view port on the other door. For safety, also cut small view holes in the sides and back.
- Glue on cardboard gift wrap tubing for the outside door handle(s).
- Paint and adorn the outside to look like a refrigerator.
- Paint the inside white, and adorn the inside walls and inside of the door(s) with food photos from magazines
- When the doors open, turn on a flashlight or mount a battery-operated light inside.
- Inside, wear all white clothes.
