At some point, every computer user faces computer problems. Although the complexity of problems varies a lot, there are many issues that can be resolved by users themselves.

When the window opens, you have several options to choose from depending what you think the problem is. - Chkdsk. This tool finds and fixes problems with your hard drive. To open go to All Programs®Accessories®Command Prompt. If you are an experienced user and want to see a computer generated report, type “chkdsk/? “. However, if all you want is to fix errors with your disk, just type “chkdsk/F”. The computer will do everything automatically.
- Safe mode. Use this option if your computer has problems booting. When the computer tries to start, press and hold “F8.” It will take you to a menu, where you can choose Safe mode using arrow keys. You can also use System Restore from this menu.
- Check drivers. Old and corrupt drivers can cause your computer to crash. Make sure all your drivers are up-to-date. To view the list of your installed devices go to Control Panel ®System®Hardware®Device Manager. Look through the list, right click on the device and click on “update driver.”
