As a teen it can be hard to see the perfect bodies in the magazines, on TV and on other girls. It is important to eat well and healthy as a teen. You can make good lifestyle choices and “diet” in order to do that. However it is very important that you don’t harm your body, causing health complications later on, by trying to change your look. Here are 4 essential tips on teen dieting.
Make Good Choices
Dieting can be a good thing if it means a nutritious and healthy lifestyle change. Eating more fruits and vegetables, taking in more fiber, and cutting down on junk food are good things to do. Bad choices include skipping meals, taking diet pills or laxatives, not eating enough or not eating at all. These bad choices can actually cause your body to gain weight, be malnourished and sick.

Be Physically Active
Physical activity helps you to feel better about yourself, naturally keeps your body toned and in shape and naturally speeds up your metabolism. Be involved in sports, dance, cheerleading, running or swimming. Join a PE class or run around your block a few times before or after school every day. The options for healthy physical activity are endless and the benefits are priceless.
Eat Healthy
Make sure you are eating a wide variety of foods every day so your body can get the nutrition it needs to stay healthy. Eating breakfast every day is important, since it gets your metabolism going and gives you energy for the rest of the day. Only eat when you are hungry and stop eating once you are full.
Drink lots of Water
Staying hydrated keeps your body from bloating, helps your body release toxins that can cause weight gain, can help to clear up your skin, keep your hair vibrant and healthy, fight sickness and infection and keeps all other areas of your body healthy. You can never drink too much water, so if you’re looking to stay in shape drink, drink, drink, drink!!
