There is nothing like a tall glass of cold ice tea on a hot summer day. Ice tea is a great beverage to drink because it is water with a flavor of your choice, includes antioxidants from the tea, and is calorie free. Stay healthy and loose weight by following these simple tips on making a delicious pitcher of ice tea in 10 minutes or less.

Boil water.

Choose how much ice tea you would like to make. However many cups or quarts, boil half that amount of water.  I for example have a large pitcher that takes 4 quarts (16 cups), so I boil 2 quarts (8 cups) of water.  Boil the water in a large tea kettle or pot.

Brew the tea.

Once the water is boiling turn off the stove and place 3 tea bags into the hot water. I prefer raspberry green tea and mango peach tea, however any and all tea flavors and varieties work.  Choose a tea that you like.  Leave the tea bags in the hot water for 5-10 minutes. The longer you let the tea bags steep the stronger the flavor of your ice tea.

Pour into a pitcher.

Remove the tea bags with their attached strings or with a spoon.  Carefully pour the hot water into a pitcher of your choice. Fill the rest of the pitcher up with cold water while stirring.

Chill and serve.

Let the pitcher of tea cool in the fridge before serving, or to serve immediately pour tea directly into a glass of ice. You can choose to sweeten with non-calorie sweetener if you wish.
