Chances are that if you are driving in LA you will find yourself sitting in traffic at one time or another. There are always unexpected pockets of traffic throughout the day so it is always good to be prepared. Follow these tips I picked up and avoid wasting time while parked on the freeway.

Try an audio copy of that book you have been meaning to read

  • Practice your Karaoke

One of the favorite pastimes in LA is to sing karaoke at a local bar.  Practice your next karaoke song during your commute in the privacy of your own car. You won’t have any interruptions and no one will hear you as long as you keep your window up.

  • Listen to a book

I suggest purchasing an audio copy of that book you have been meaning to read. Keep it in your car to listen to on your commute. This can help pass the time and you get the reading you’ve been meaning to do out of the way.

  • Make those calls

Get those calls you’ve been meaning to make out of the way during your commute.  By multitasking in this way the time sitting in traffic goes by quicker and you don’t have to spend time at home on the phone.

Invest in a Bluetooth for your cell phone. In the state of California it is illegal to drive while holding your cell phone, however an attached earpiece is perfectly fine.

  • Keep up on the news

There are plenty of news radio stations available to listen to. While driving through traffic catch up on what’s going on in the world.  I recommend checking out KNX 1070 AM and KFWB News 980 AM.
