Cuticles grow over your fingers and toenails in a thin strip and need to be removed as a part of regular manicure and pedicure procedures. Follow these 4 tips on how to care for your nails with cuticle pushers:
Soften them up!
Before you push your cuticles back you most soften and prepare them to be easily removed. Some people use cuticle remover to soften the skin. Soaking your finger tips in very warm water for 5-10 minutes also works.
Push them back!
Hold cuticle pushers at an angle and gently push back the dry skin that is growing over your nails back to the nail base. Scrape the cuticles at the sides of your nails back. Push all the dead skin up and off your nail. If your cuticles are not moving, apply lotion to your nail beds and wait a few minutes for the moisture to absorb.
Trim them off!
Your cuticles will be pushed up from the cuticle pusher and it will be easy to trim off the excess skin with a cuticle trimmer.
Nourish them!
After using cuticle pushers and trimmers your cuticles will need to be moisturized properly. Apply hydrating creams for dry skin and olive oil multiple times a day to keep your cuticles healthy.
