You don't have to stress out or break the bank when getting gifts for everyone on your list.
- Simplify the job by dividing the list into categories: family, close friends, co-workers, etc.
- Make a budget of how much you can spend.
- Identify each person or category that you can give a homemade edible gift to. Chances are for most people you can give cookies, chocolates, cocoa mixes, or other Christmas goodies, contained in an attractive holiday gift bag and with a personal note. If you are good with a needle, plan to give scarves, sweaters, socks, and other clothing to others on your list.
For those on your list that you'd like to give a different sort of gift, here are some ideas to get you started:
- A newly released poetry collection for the literature lover
- A Swiss army knife for the boy turning into a man
- A hunting and fishing magazine for the outdoor lovers
- Paint and pastels for the wannabe artist
- A smooth-writing pen for the writer or businessman
- Seeds for the ardent or aspirant gardener
- A portable book light for the reader
- Guitar strings and songbooks for the musician
- Tool kit for the gadget guy or girl
- Coffee cup warmer for the coffee addict
- Spa kit for the stressed friend
- Decorative napkins and kitchen towels for the homemaker
- Puzzles for the young nephew
- A princess tiara for the little niece
