What are Great Gifts for Valentines Day

Need help thinking up gift ideas for your valentine this February 14^th? The following are a few of my favorite gifts for valentines that could work for both the casual and serious relationship gift givers.

• Romantic Movie Night. Buy sexy lingerie for either you or your partner (or both) along with a favorite movie or two that your partner will enjoy.  Light candles in your living room or bedroom (wherever you plan to have your movie night) and spend your valentines watching movies in sexy, fun outfits. It doesn’t hurt to have wine or champagne to drink and both sweet and salty finger foods to eat while watching the movie. This evening might turn into a little bit more than just a movie night!

• Spa experience. Treat your valentine to a couple spa treatment. Splurge on an experience of relaxation and pampering that you can enjoy together. Your date will feel fresh, sexy and appreciated.

• Utilize Yelp.  Yelp.com is a wonderful search engine designed to help you discover new and interesting places. Whether you want to stay around home or hit up a location a bit farther away, Yelp can help you find entertainment, hotels, and restaurants for you and your date on Valentine’s Day.  Make sure to make reservations ahead of time, since establishments tend to book out on February 14th.

• Make Valentines Cupcakes.  Use red velvet, chocolate or white cake mix and bake cupcakes in pink or red cupcake holders. Use red food coloring to tint white frosting the shade of pink or red that you desire. It may be fun to have both red and pink and white frosted cupcakes. When the cupcakes are baked and have cooled off, frost them and sprinkle heart shaped candies on the cupcakes. You can also write a message with cupcakes, making one frosting letter per cupcake. Say messages like “I Like You”, “I Love You”, “You’re Cute”, etc.

• Give a Box of Chocolate. Giving a box of chocolates is a great gift for those in both noncommittal and serious relationships. Dark chocolate has clinically been proven to rev up a woman’s sex drive and increase her sexual desires. Dark chocolate also has the cardiovascular health benefits of lowering blood pressure. Chocolate is perfect for valentines because it increases sex drive keeps the heart healthily beating for romance.

• Make Chocolate Dipped Strawberries. Both sweet and sexy, chocolate covered strawberries are a perfect treat to incorporate in a valentine’s date to rev up the romance.
  • Buy a container of ripe strawberries (the darker red, the sweeter and better) and wash them in a colander. Buy two bags of chocolate chips and two bags of white chocolate chips.
  • Melt 1 bag of chocolate chips and 1 bag of white chocolate chips in 2 separate pots. Stir until the chips are completely melted and keep the stove on low. Dip the strawberries into either one of the melted chocolate pots, and set them on wax paper to dry. Have an assortment of both chocolate and white chocolate dipped strawberries. 
  • Once the strawberries are dry, microwave the other 2 bags of chocolate and white chocolate chips until they are melted, and kneed each bag with your fists until you don’t feel any chip chunks left in the bag.  
  • Cut the very tip of the corner off of each bag and squeeze a chocolate or white chocolate drizzle out of the small snipped corner and onto the strawberries.  Move the bag back forth to create wavy lines and zigzag drizzle marks. Let the strawberries dry, and you will have your own assortment of chocolate dipped and drizzled strawberries!
