Have a theme. A themed dining experience will enhance the fun. Make it an English tea, or a Mexican fiesta, or a Mediterranean feast.
Make-your-own smoothies. Have on hand fresh and frozen fruit, yogurt, milk, ice cream, and crushed ice. Have the girls choose their ingredients and then mix in a blender.
Tortillas and salsa dip. Mix the salsa with sour cream or nacho cheese dip. Put colorful tortillas in a bowl and serve side by side.
Bean salad dip. Refried beans, salsa, cheese, greens/guacamole, and topped with sour cream. Attack with tortilla chips.
Biscuit pizza. Cut biscuits into halves and smother with spaghetti sauce and whatever other toppings the girls prefer – pepperoni, shredded cheese, olives, sausage bits, peppers, shredded carrots, etc.
Buttered asparagus. This is a delicious dish in asparagus season, and also fun to eat. You can also substitute olive oil for butter.
Deviled eggs. These hors d'œuvres are great fun. The girls can help dollop the filling into each egg.
Tea and crumpets. Bake berry-filled crumpets and serve with butter and brewed tea.
Chocolate-covered strawberries. Drizzle chocolate syrup over fresh strawberries, or dip each berry in chocolate fudge.
