Need to raise support for the summer mission trip, or resources to buy a Bible study curriculum? Try putting some of these ideas into action.
Car wash. Set up in the church parking lot on the weekend or after school. Mark large signs and post them by the road. Advertise in the church bulletin and on community posting boards.
Rummage sale. Gather everyone's garage sale items. Put an ad in the paper, and set up in the church gym, fellowship hall, parking lot, or in someone's front yard.
Bake sale. Set up a booth at a community event, and sell pastries and pies, cakes and cookies.
Host a game night. Invite local school kids to attend a game night at the church. Set up board games, card games, video games, and indoor gym games. Charge a couple dollars for each participant.
Put on a show. Put on a variety show on a Friday evening in the church auditorium. Have members of the youth group perform on an instrument, present a dramatic sketch, or show off a juggling act. Charge a couple dollars for admittance, or simply ask for a freewill offering after detailing the current need.
Hire out for work. Offer your services to members of the church and community: mow lawns, shovel driveways, trim hedges, paint sheds, clean houses, pull weeds, and pick beans.
