How to Rid Your House of Ants

If you find one, you know that there is an army of ants close. Here are a few fail proof tips to help get rid of the ants in your house (as well as prevent them from coming back)
- Figure out where they are coming from and what is their food source. Do not block their entrance right away - it is easier to kill the ants if they are undisturbed.
- Use ant motels. Ant motels trick the ants into taking the powder back into the wall to share with their friends. Do not spray insecticide around the motel, as it will repel ants. Ants should die within a few weeks.
- Put Boric Acid Powder on their trail. The powder works well when you can see exactly where the ant trail is. Put the dust directly on their path so they can't crawl around it.
- Locate the place of entry, squeeze a lemon on it, and leave the peel. Ants will also retreat from lines of talcum powder, chalk, bonemeal, charcoal dust and cayenne pepper.
- Once you have killed the ants, block their entry point with petroleum jelly, tape, or caulking material.
- If the ants keep coming, call an exterminator.
