You can go the bunny route or the biblical route when preparing Easter crafts for kids.

Decorate Easter eggs. The quintessential American Easter craft. Boil some eggs, and use watercolor paint, pastels, erasable markers, and stickers to embellish them.

Make Resurrection Eggs. Each egg will symbolize a part of the biblical Easter story.

You will need twelve plastic eggs. Number the eggs 1-12 with a marker.

For the first egg (1), fill with a leaf, to represent the palm branches people waved as Jesus rode into Jerusalem on a donkey; for the second egg (2), three dimes, for the thirty pieces of silver the Pharisees paid Judas; for the third (3), a communion cup symbolizing the Last Supper; for the fourth (4), a leather strip, for the floggings Jesus received after being interrogated by Pilate; for the fifth (5), a thorn, signifying the crown of thorns that Jesus wore; for the sixth (6), a piece of purple cloth, for the robe that the soldiers dressed Jesus in; for the seventh (7), a nail, because Jesus was nailed to the cross; for the eighth (8), a piece of sponge, for the vinegar sponge that was offered to Jesus; for the ninth (9), a small spear, for when the Roman soldiers speared Jesus’ side to make sure he was dead; for the tenth (10), a piece of gauze, to represent Jesus’ grave clothes; for the eleventh (11), a stone, for the gravestone that covered Jesus’ tomb. Finally, leave the last egg (12) empty to represent Jesus’ resurrection from the grave.

Make bunny ears. You'll need a headband, white and pink felt, a hot glue gun, and scissors. Cut two strips of white felt and glue onto the outside and underside of the headband. Trace two big ear shapes in the white felt and two smaller ear shapes in the pink felt; cut out shapes and glue the pink onto the white. Fold each ear in half vertically; then wrap the ends of each ear onto the headband and glue them on.

You can also use poster paper: Cut out a white strip, then glue on two white paper ears, with pink paper glued onto the white. Staple the strip together to fit the child's head, and cut off any extra paper.

Decorate wooden crosses. Look for wooden crosses at the arts and crafts store. Decorate with paint, markers, pens, beads, glitter, etc. Engrave a Bible verse in marker or pen. After decorating, drill a hole through the top end, and put a thin rope or leather strap through to make a hanging cross ornament.

Make palm branches. Cut out a leaf shape from green poster paper, then cut fringes on the edges.

Color the bunny or from the Bible. There are lots of free Easter coloring pages to be found on the web. Just Google "easter bunny color" or "easter coloring sheets" or "easter bible coloring" and print out your favorites.

Make bunny puppets. Use a white paper bag as your base. Cut out white ear-shaped construction paper for the ears and glue onto the the bottom of the bag. Use pink paper for the inside of the ears. With a black marker, draw eyes, cheeks, mouth, teeth, and whiskers. Draw paw prints on two strips of paper and glue onto either side of the bag for feet. Then glue cotton balls onto the feet, cheeks, and middle of forehead.
