Having bad breath can be both frustrating and embarrassing. This all too common problem can be solved simply by following the bad breath cures listed below. Don't let halitosis restrict you any longer!

Clean your tongue. Bad breath is caused by decaying food and bacteria in your mouth. Brushing your tongue is just as important to stopping bad breath as brushing and flossing your teeth.   Bacteria and food particles cling to the back of your tongue, causing a foul order if not removed.  While mouthwash can temporarily fix bad breath, it does not remove the food particles stuck in the ridges of your tongue.  So brush that tongue with vigor, and you should solve your bad breath problem!

Chew gum. Chewing gum produces extra saliva in your mouth, helping to eliminate bath breath odor.  Salvia can help to wash away food particles stuck on your tongue, and naturally kills bacteria in your mouth. Using gum with the sugar substitute xylitol works the best to prevent the growth of new bacteria in your mouth.  There has also been studies that show that cinnamon flavored gum works best to effectively fight bacteria in your mouth and prevent it from recurring.

Down the h2o. Drinking water has been linked to reducing the amount of bacteria that grows in your mouth. Staying hydrated and regularly drinking at least 64 oz of water a day has an ocean full of health benefits, one of those being the reduction of bad breath.

Naw on bread. Bad breath can be the result of a diet that is low in carbohydrates. If you are specifically avoiding carbs and have noticed an increase in foul mouth order, try adding some healthy breads and pastas to your diet.  Whole grain and whole wheat breads are  healthy carbohydrates that can easily be incorporated into a low-calorie, low-carb diet.

Investigate other causes. If you are still struggling with bad breath and have tried the tips above, then your halitosis might be caused by something more serious. Bad breath can be the result of cavities or tooth decay. Gum disease can also cause bad breath. Very rarely liver or kidney failures can also have the side effect of foul order in the mouth. See your dentist and doctor if you are concerned that any of these problems might be the cause of your bad breath. Normally however, bad breath can be cured by simply reducing the build up of bacteria in your mouth.
