Dandruff is annoying, irritating and above all else – embarrassing. Spending money on antidandruff shampoo can be very expensive. I’ve tried some home remedies for dandruff that have proven to be quite successful. Check out these 6 tips on curing dandruff at home.

Eggs

Mix 2 tablespoons of water with 2 beaten eggs and apply the mixture to your wet hair. I have found that it is best to do this in the shower to easily clean up any spills. After massaging the egg mixture into your scalp let it set for ten minutes.  After thoroughly rinsing the egg out of your hair with warm water your dandruff problem will be gone!

Aloe Vera

An affective dandruff remedy that I use is rubbing Aloe Vera onto your scalp and letting it set for 10 minutes.  Aloe Vera calms and soothes any itching related to dandruff and moisturizes, eliminating dry and dead skin patches. Make sure to shampoo afterwards or your hair will get sticky.

Apple Juice

I have found that apple juice reduces dandruff flakes and soothes associated itching. Mix together 1 tablespoon of apple juice with 3 table spoons of water and massage this onto the dandruff patches on your scalp.

Vinegar

A blend of vinegar and water or vinegar and lemon juice has proven effective in reducing my dandruff flakes. Put a mixture of 3 parts water 1 part vinegar on to your scalp every night.  Applying 1 part lemon juice and 2 parts vinegar onto your hair one hour before you wash it is also an effective method for reducing dandruff.

Curry Leaves

Fry curry leaves in coconut oil. Fry until you see a black residue from the leaves in the oil. In the shower, put the oil in your hair and massage it into your scalp with your fingers.  I have found that adding curry leaves to your drinks also helps to improve dandruff conditions.

Rosemary

I have discovered that rosemary refreshes and hydrates your scalp and removes dandruff. After boiling rosemary leaves in water for a half hour and using the water as a final rinse after washing your hair has proven very effective for me in reducing itchy, flaky dandruff.
